Where should I go on my next vacation? That's a question that many of us ask ourselves when we are pondering what to do with our time off. Or rather, it's a question more of us should be asking ourselves! Did you know that most Americans don't take all of their vacation time off, and that some (too many) don't take any vacation time at all? Well, we at  Select Registry know the value of a good getaway and we want to share that with you. After all, we work hard, and we should be able to take advantage of the restful and regenerative effects that going on vacation have. So, back to the question.  Where should I go on vacation? There is no one right or wrong answer, but everyone has different tastes.  We've come up with a few answers to the question "where should I go on my next vacation?" so you can start planning your well earned time away!


California is a wonderful destination for those seeking a variety of getaways.  Whether you want sandy beaches, rolling vineyards, or scenic deserts, California has something for seemingly everyone. The Wine Country and Napa Valley are extremely popular places for getaways, and with good reason.  Not only are the vintages top notch, but the scenery is breathtaking. Or you can take on the bay area and the city of San Francisco for unparalleled culture and ambience.  Other places to consider in California include Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe, Santa Barbara, and Eureka.

New England

If the answer to the question "where should I go on my next vacation?" isn't California, then perhaps the answer lies on the opposite end of the country.   New England is another part of the US that is not to be missed. This picturesque region in the North East is mad up of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont.  The activities in these beautiful states range from hiking and canoeing to sampling fine food and spirits and everything in between.  During the summer theatre lovers will delight in the numerous summer stock schedules from troupes like Shakespeare & Company.

Florida and the Southeast

If you long for warmer climbs for your vacation, then the Southeast portion of the country could be the answer to the question, "where should I go on my next vacation?" The sandy beaches of Florida are world famous, and for good reason.  For soaking up some sun and enjoying the surf, there is truly no better place. Cities like Savannah, GA and Charleston, SC are full of southern charm and rooted deep within American History, making them ideal places for history buffs and those who love the slower way of life to visit.

The Mid-Atlantic

The Mid-Atlantic region of the US has a lot to offer those looking to answer the question, "where should I go on my next vacation?" The Mid-Atlantic is made up of Delaware, Washington DC, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. This is a region full of pristine lakes and waterways, idyllic forests, and intriguing metropolitan areas. Of course, DC has everything a fan of American History could want, but Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, New York, and Richmond area also must-see cities in the region.
