Summer Music Events in the Southeast

You know summer is officially here when the list of music events seems endless. That's because music is one of the sounds of summer. A day spent cooling off at the beach or on the boat isn't complete without some great tunes. To help you plan your summer, we've put together a list of some of our favorite summer music events in the Southeast. All you have to do is pack a bag and hit the road.

Tap Your Feet. In Morganton, North Carolina, the local folks always go back to their musical roots to show their patriotism. From July 1 - 4th, the Red White and Bluegrass Festival will have you tapping your feet and wishing you knew how to square dance. Don't think it will get you going? This festival was nominated in 2010 for the IBMA Bluegrass Event of the Year, so you know it's got to be incredible.

Jazz it Up. Boogie with your honey in the white sand of North Topsail Beach, North Carolina at the Sixth Annual Ocean City Jazz Festival on July 3 - 4th. The lineup showcases both jazz legends and up-and-coming stars like Willie Bradley, Lenora Helm, John Brown Quintet with Cyrus Chestnut, Reggie Codrington, John Brown with Mark Whitfield and Marcus Anderson.

Dance. Head down to Charleston, South Carolina to celebrate the fourth of July. When night falls, grab your dancing shoes and hang with the locals at the summer event Shaggin' on the Cooper. Great music and fun dancing make this music event a blast, and the location, right under the stunning Ravenel bridge, is the cherry on top. If you already have plans for the fourth of July, you can also catch this event on July 18th and August 15th.

Sing Along. The Sounds Like Summer Concert Series in Orlando, Florida, is the ultimate summer music event. Running through July 25th, you'll catch some of the best tribute cover bands here. If these awesome oldies don't get you singing along, we don't know what will. Here's a list of the complete lineup:

Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot: A Tribute Billy Joel Show – June 21 to 26, 2015
Don’t Look Back: A Tribute to Boston – June 27 to July 4, 2015
Fire & Ice: A Tribute to Pat Benatar – July 5 to July 11, 2015
Stayin’ Alive: A Tribute to the Bee Gees – July 12 to 18, 2015
Hotel California: A Salute to the Eagles – July 19 to 25, 2015

Groove. There aren't many bands that truly epitomize the sound of summer like the Beach Boys. Their music makes you want to grab your surfboard, catch some waves, or maybe just soak up the sun from the shore. Either way, they will be dropping into Atlanta, Georgia on July 24th to take you back with some great 1960s beach music.

Now that you've decided which music event to attend this summer, it's time to plan where you will stay. Not far from the Red White and Bluegrass Festival in Morganton, North Carolina is the scenic Gideon Ridge Inn Bed & Breakfast. Just a short drive from the Ocean City Jazz festival in North Topsail Beach, North Carolina is the luxurious Verandas Bed & Breakfast. Right over the Ravenel bridge in Downtown Charleston, South Carolina, are two options... the historical John Rutledge House Inn Bed & Breakfast or the romantic Two Meeting Street Inn Bed & Breakfast. If the Beach Boys are your top pick, the award-winning Shellmont Inn Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of Atlanta.
