Teachers, you are so much more than just an educator. Every day, you are a mentor, friend, confidant, and motivator to your students. Wearing so many hats can be exhausting. With school out of session, it's time for YOU to be taken care of by someone else! At bed and breakfasts, inns, and small hotels, you'll find a unique, pampered lodging experience that puts your needs first.
With the following getaways for teachers, you can take that much-needed vacation this summer without breaking the bank! Whether you're in need of peaceful mountain views or hot sandy beaches, here are several different ways you can spend your summer vacation across the United States (just mention you're a teacher when you make your reservation, and show your teacher ID when checking in!)
Soak up the sun. If summer makes you think of the beach, there's no better place to dip your toes in the sand than the Casa Grandview Historic Luxury Inn, Cottages & Suites in West Palm Beach, Florida. Relax by the pool during the day or take a short drive to the beach. When nighttime comes, experience downtown West Palm Beach's attractions and restaurants, just minutes from the inn. Plus, it's close to Palm Beach International Airport, so traveling to and from couldn't be easier.
Offer: Enjoy 25% off on all stays of three nights or more through the second week of September 2015. Based on single or double occupancy. Taxes additional.
Seek out nature. Interested in southern hospitality, but not feeling the Florida heat? We know just the spot. The charming Bed and Breakfast on Tiffany Hill in Mills River, North Carolina is something out of the pages of Southern Living Magazine. Set on six acres of beautiful gardens and walking trails, you'll find plenty of peaceful spots to read a book or take in nature's beauty! This property is also close to the Pisgah National Forest and the DuPont State Recreational Park, both known for their many breathtaking waterfalls.
Offer: Book three consecutive nights and receive a complimentary fourth consecutive night through December 2015. Please use "Teacher DMI4" code in the Additional Information section when booking your reservation.
Unwind with wine. Further up north is the Iris Inn, a Blue Ridge Mountain retreat in Waynesboro, Virginia. Consider yourself a wine lover? There are 27 vineyards within 30 miles of the inn. Visit one or check off several different ones during your stay! If you have extra time, you could also tour the beautiful Monticello, home of America’s first winemaker, Thomas Jefferson. If you don't make it to the vineyards, the Iris Inn does host complimentary wine tastings in the evenings. And there's also a 'bottomless' cookie jar you won't want to miss!
Offer: 25% off any third night, 50% off any fourth night OR 25% off any room in the main Inn when booking a 2-night stay Sunday-Thursday, excluding holidays and special events. Teachers will also receive free Chocolate covered strawberries waiting in your room on arrival. This offer is valid through August 31, 2015.
Take a break. A little over two hours from Waynesboro, Virginia is the Hillbrook Inn Bed and Breakfast in Charles Town, West Virgina. Leave your worries behind and let yourself truly relax at this b&b's amazing spa. Treating yourself to a massage isn't just about being pampered; it can actually do wonders for your health! The Mayo Clinic claims a massage is an effective way to cure a wide variety of ailments like headaches, stress, and insomnia.
The Gatehouse Spa at the Hillbrook Inn Bed and Breakfast offers massages, facials, body treatments, polarity, cosmetic, and nail care.
Offer: 25% off any room rate, excluding holiday weekends, through the summer until September 16, 2015.
Feed your soul. Nothing compares to fresh vegetables, taken straight from the garden. Many say you can even taste the difference, which isn't surprising considering the facts. According to Whole Foods Market, "organic tomatoes are 50% higher in vitamin C content than conventional tomatoes." You'll also get a significantly higher level of antioxidants when you eat organic veggies.
When you stay at the Brampton Bed and Breakfast Inn in Chestertown, Maryland, you'll wake up to a plentiful, freshly prepared a-la-carte breakfast every morning. Enjoy it in this B&B's formal dining room or have it delivered to your cottage for a true bed and breakfast experience. The Brampton Bed and Breakfast Inn only uses local free-range eggs and as many fruits and vegetables from its own organic garden. The innkeeper, Danielle, is actually one of the Eight Broads in the Kitchen.
Offer: Enjoy a complimentary Fruit and Cheese Platter (a $75 value) for any booking through August 21, 2015.
Go on an adventure. Located on six acres of beautiful grounds, the Settlers Inn in Hawley, Pennslyvania is full of adventures! Stroll through its artfully designed gardens or explore the beautiful Lackawaxen River and the lush woodlands. Take a dip or go for a boat cruise, the choice is yours! If you're up for something more challenging, go kayaking or try paddleboarding on Lake Wallenpaupack. Whether you crave water or land, you'll find plenty of outdoor adventures in the Delaware Highlands Region.
Offer: Enjoy the Coffee Lovers' Delight: One or two-night stay in a Standard Queen room, 2 Settlers Inn Coffee Mugs with a $15 voucher for Cocoon Coffee House, and a full country breakfast in the morning. Price based on double occupancy. Valid Monday and Tuesdays through August 26, 2015.
Learn something new. Be the student for a change at the Caldwell House Bed and Breakfast in Salisbury Mills, New York. This B&B was built while Thomas Jefferson was president and opened in 1802, the same year as the United States Military Academy at West Point. In the 1800s, the original owner, John Caldwell, purchased about 50 acres, which included three houses, for only $12,500! Today, the Caldwell House Bed and Breakfast is made up of two of these three houses.
You can see the history in the original wide planked wooden floors, the large crown molding capping the high ceilings, and the large, beautifully designed fireplaces that the first owners of the home used and enjoyed. Beautifully restored, the Caldwell House Bed and Breakfast looks very much like it did years ago. Its original details and antique furnishing take you back to another time by bringing its history to life.
Offer: Stay 2 nights and get a 3rd night free. This is valid Monday through Wednesdays during July and August 2015.
