4 Reasons California Wine Country Vacations are Perfect

1. The Wine

Of course, the first reason that California wine country vacations are perfect is the wine. No matter your favorite type of wine, you're sure to find a pleasing vintage when you visit the Wine Country. With more than 400 wineries, you could spend all of your time in Wine Country going to tastings and taking winery tours. In Napa, try Beau Wine Tours, Napa Valley Wine Country Tours, California Wine Tours, or the Napa Valley Wine Trolley. These tours are the best way to explore multiple wineries and stay safe while doing it.

Another advantage of wine tours is that it can be difficult to navigate the myriad of wineries in the region. Depending on your favorite varietal, the tour guides should be able to help point you in the right direction. You'll also find that you can visit many recognizable wineries, so you can see where your favorite wine is made. In Sonoma County famous wineries include Francis Ford Coppola Winery, Kendall-Jackson, Rodney Strong Vineyards, St. Francis Winery and Vineyards, and Korbel Champagne Cellars.

2. The Activities

The main draw for California Wine Country vacations is obviously the wine. However, the wineries aren't the only places you should visit while you're in the region. There is so much to see and do in wine country beyond tastings and vineyard tours. Whether you want to explore the outdoors or try something adventurous and new, California wine country vacations are the perfect time to get out and enjoy yourself.

For example, in Napa you can combine a fun activity with a first-class dining experience on the Napa Valley Wine Train. There are also many other great activities in Napa such as taking a hot air balloon with Napa Valley Balloons. It's a wonderful way to take in the rolling hills full of vineyards.

If you're in Mendocino, then you must take advantage of the beautiful coastline. One great place to access the beach is Mendocino Headlands State Park. The park has wonderful trails, stretches of rugged coastline, and secluded beaches for you to enjoy. Popular activities in the park include hiking, boating, horseback riding, fishing, walking along the beach, or just sitting and soaking in the sun and the beauty around you. There is also a visitor center and interpretive exhibits within the park.
