Plan a Visit to Space Coast Florida

Florida Select Registry – July 21, 2014

Florida is a place full of interesting attractions and areas to visit.  If you are interested in taking in beautiful beaches, attractions, and learning about the US space program, then you should check out Space Coast Florida.  This section of the Atlantic Coast was named for the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. It is the perfect destination for a getaway of any length and you can pack in as much or as little as you want during your time there. And with Select Registry properties and great Florida bed and breakfasts in the area, you know you’ll have a relaxing and restoring stay.  Read on to find out more about the great things awaiting at Space Coast Florida.

Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex

Famous Kennedy Space Center in Titusville near Cape Canaveral has been the site of every NASA human space flight since December 1968. The Space Shuttle program ended in 2011, but today the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex remains an integral part of Space Coast Florida.  The center is great a place to visit with attractions such as exhibits, the US Astronaut Hall of Fame, a Rocket Garden, and shuttle experiences along with chances to get up close and personal with the space race at the Apollo/Saturn V Center.

Space Coast Beaches

One of the biggest draws for Space Coast Florida is its beaches. There are 72 gorgeous miles of beach on the Space Coast to soak up the sun and breath in the salty air on.  There are many parks and access points for the beaches in Melbourne, Cocoa Beach, Palm Bay, and Titusville.  Canaveral National Seashore has 25 miles of undeveloped beach, making it the perfect place to visit undisturbed dunes, marsh and habitats for sea birds. Coconut Point Park is a popular sea turtle nesting site and a good place for surfing. These are just a few places to hit the beach in Space Coast Florida.

Other Space Coast Florida Attractions

Space Coast Florida is home to more than the space center and beautiful beaches, there are also great opportunities for shopping and entertainment. Cocoa Beach Pier is a great place to dine, shop, see live music, fish off the pier, and maybe even catch a surfing competition. There are charming downtown areas in Titusville, Melbourne, Eau Gallie, and Cocoa Beach. Brevard Zoo and Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge are perfect destinations for those wanting to encounter wildlife.
