Our 4th trip was to the lovely Woolverton Inn located in Stockton, New Jersey. Upon arriving we were greeted with some delicious cookies and hot chocolate, which hit the spot. There were games to play in the main living room area. CD's of all types were also available to borrow to create the perfect atmosphere in our room. Our room was cozy with a fireplace and a Jacuzzi in the bathroom. There was no television in the room which was ok with us because we could get away to relax without all the distractions that TV can bring.
That evening we took a short ride into town and ate at a great Italian restaurant called Via Ponte. The next morning we had breakfast at the Woolverton Inn which consisted of lemon blueberry pancakes. Bob (one of the innkeepers) was an excellent host and spent some time with us explaining the history of the Inn. The Woolverton Inn is an excellent getaway in west central New Jersey along the bluffs of the Delaware River. When you get an opportunity to get away, make reservations at the Woolverton Inn - you won't be sorry! We enjoyed our stay at the Woolverton Inn. Thank you to the innkeepers for such a wonderful bed and breakfast experience.
Our fifth stay of our Vacation of a Lifetime journeyed us on a four-day getaway to southern New England during the week of Easter. Our 1st stop was at the lovely Stonecroft Country Inn in Ledyard, CT (minutes from Mystic). Jim and Marcie were very welcoming and spent a lot of time with us talking about the history of their Inn. A special gift of chocolates and a glass of wine helped us unwind from the 3.5 hour ride from Pennsylvania. Our accommodations were in the Lily Room located in the yellow barn . The room had a fireplace and large bathroom with a stall shower, Jacuzzi and heated towel rack. There was also a separate entrance from the outside. That evening we ate at Captain Daniels in the town of Mystic. The steak was delicious.
The next morning we were treated to breakfast downstairs in the large dining room. Jim and Marcie not only serve breakfast here but also rent this area out for private parties like weddings and reunions, just to name a few. The breakfast was very good, especially the homemade muffins. Jim served us while Marcie prepared all the food. Many memories and friends were made at the lovely Stonecroft Inn. Jim and Marcie are new to the business but make it seem like they have been doing it for a long time. They definitely go the extra mile to get to know all their guests and make them feel right at home. Go visit Jim and Marcie at Stonecroft. This is an excellent Inn in a New England country setting.
