Lake Tahoe is an adventure lover’s paradise, no matter what time of year you are looking to visit, right in the heart of the Sierra Nevadas. 1. Go on a Lake Cruise
One of the best ways to experience Lake Tahoe in its entirety is to take a lake cruise. You can choose between going out during the day, enjoying a meal on a dinner cruise, or experiencing a romantic sunset cruise.
2. Partake in Watersports
Watersports is a vague term that means, “Go have a crazy good time in the water!” Watersport options include, but aren’t limited to, whitewater rafting, jet skiing, tubing, and parasailing.
3. Play a Round of Golf
Lake Tahoe golf courses are abundant in the area. Three of the several you can choose from are Coyote Moon Golf Course, Old Greenwood Golf Course, and Tahoe Donner Golf Course.
4. Have a Wedding
We aren’t suggesting you get engaged just so can plan a Lake Tahoe wedding, but we are suggesting that you strongly consider Lake Tahoe as a wedding destination if you are on the hunt. The beautiful lake and the snow-capped mountains will provide one of the most beautiful backdrops for a wedding that the world has to offer.
5. Catch Some Fish
You can either test your local knowledge of the area on your own, or you can take one of the fishing charters that are offered. We suggest going on a charter and allowing the experienced guides to take you to the best fishing hot spots on the lake.
6. Explore the Mountains by Horseback
A relaxing way to see some of the mountainside is by going on a horseback riding tour. There are several companies in the area that cater to this desire, as each will take you through the mountain meadow and over meandering streams.
7. Hike the Mountains, Instead
If you prefer traveling by two feet instead of four, consider taking a hike on any number of trails. Your hike can be as easy or as strenuous as you desire. Just decide where you want to go, pack some water, and enjoy your journey.
