With this in mind, we’ve gathered a few of our favorite choices that are sure to delight each family member, providing ample space and activities to keep you busy and having fun.

Caribbean Court Boutique Hotel

Located in Vero Beach, Florida, the Caribbean Court Boutique Hotel is actually on Orchid Island, known as the “Jewel of the Treasure Coast.” This tranquil tropical locale is everything a vacation getaway should be, offering true Southern hospitality for all of your family members. And with four pet-friendly rooms, there is no reason to leave anyone behind as you set out to enjoy balmy breezes in a lush and inviting landscape. This gem of a hotel provides 18 double-occupancy studio efficiencies that boast stunning antiques, hand-painted tiles, and original artwork. Here you can enjoy all the amenities you need, including embroidered waffle robes, cotton sheets, luxurious towels, and so much more. With complimentary off-street parking, a heated pool, and full beach access, all you have to do is show up, don your bathing suits, and get ready to make some great memories. The Caribbean Court offers a delicious continental breakfast in the morning and for later dining, there is the renowned Maison Martinique Restaurant, featuring French cuisine with a true Caribbean flair. Choose one of the three elegant yet casual dining rooms or dine al fresco, enjoying an opulent wine list and a full bar. Later in the evening, take the family to the Havana Nights Piano Bar, a great night spot for Latin beats, and if you decide to eat your dinner fare here, enjoy a light French, Spanish, and Caribbean inspired menu that will ignite your palate.

You will find this exquisite location in Ayer’s Cliff, Quebec, right on Lake Massawippi. With its Victorian décor, the country charm and warmth of Ripplecove immediately puts you in the mood to relax and take in the beauty of the surroundings. Enjoy garden or lake views in the Standard, Superior, Deluxe, or Luxury suites, some of which come with separate sitting areas and fireplaces. Besides the magnificently appointed suites, there are other alternatives that will comfortably accommodate you and your family:

The Appalachian Cottage is a vintage structure that was created around 1890 from hand-hewn log. This restored three bedroom, two bathroom abode features a fireplace and a lovely lakeside covered porch, and is ample enough to sleep five. The Birches sits under 100 year old maple and birch trees. As the former innkeeper’s residence, this sumptuous locale is designer decorated and boasts a heated pool, three bedrooms and two and a half baths, making it extremely comfortable for six. The Owl’s View Chalet is a fully restored three-bedroom cedar log cottage that sits on Lake Memphremagog, only 20 minutes away from the Inn. With 300 feet of private waterfront, you can launch the canoe from your private dock to experience a wonderful day on the lake. Sleeping six, you will be in your own private paradise in this beautiful year-round locale.

The Inn features the Le Riverain restaurant, where you can enjoy the impeccable French cuisine and a complete wine list that has earned Four Diamond Award status. Treat your self to the Inn’s therapeutic spa, Arboressence, located among native pines in the new wing. Here you can select from a full range of therapies and treatments, along with experiencing the excellence of the Phytomer product line.

In business for more than 60 years, Ripplecove is considered one of best destinations in Canada. Specials and packages are available throughout the year.

The Doctor’s Inn – Only allows children over 12

In the small town of Galax, Virginia and right in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, sits a beauty of a place that holds the feel of another era. In the words of the innkeepers themselves, this is a place where you can bask in “Elegant Simplicity Prescribed by the Doctor,” whether you come with your partner or bring the kids. Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, this Colonial Revival style house is graced with a wrap-around front porch with climbing Wisteria on one end and lush Clematis on the other. Built around 1913, its original features are prominent due to an impeccable renovation in 2002. With historic wallpaper in the entry hall and dining room, a boxwood garden with a sundial dating from the 1920s, and a brick wall built in the 1940s, the Inn glows with a timeless appeal.

Tread the diagonally placed oak floors on the lower level and then upstairs the oak, maple, and tongue and groove pine to get a further sense of the comfort and appeal of well-crafted materials. Rooms at the Doctor’s Inn are replete with Egyptian cotton linens, luxurious robes, cashmere blankets, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, and all the amenities you could wish for. Have a full breakfast on fine china, delight in artifacts from around the world, find a book or periodical in the Waiting Room, have a hot or cold beverage along with an always-available snack in the Doctor’s Lounge, or play a game in the Recovery Room for a full dose of recuperative medicine. Yard games like badminton and croquet are also a great option for getting family members out and about. Just 82 miles from Roanoke and 68 miles from Winston Salem, NC, Galax is a lovely town where you can enjoy fine antiquing and some great local eateries. Activities abound, including a visit to the Rex Theatre, the World’s Capital of Old Time Music, Felts Park, and the Blue Ridge Parkway with its amazing vistas. And of course, there is the 57-mile path “Rails to Trails” on the New River Trail that is perfect for horseback riding, hiking, or biking. Take a canoe trip or do some kayaking, tubing, or fishing on the New River, and your stay will be complete. At the Doctor’s Inn you can book a terrific two-day Family Reunion package where children over 14 are welcome. Reserve all six bedrooms and enjoy a gourmet breakfast every morning and catered evening meals that you can order in advance. Wine and cheese is always served in the late afternoon to assuage the munchies and give you that pick-me-up before the evening begins.
