Hitting the Road... Select Registry Style

News Select Registry – July 31, 2012

Imagine packing your bags, saying goodbye to your co-workers, friends and family and hitting the road on a cross-country tour through Select Registry's luxury inns and B&Bs. Sounds like a dream right? Well, next year, that dream becomes reality for one lucky Vacation of a Lifetime winner, but first... Select Registry is giving you a behind-the-scenes preview of what just-such-an-adventure could look like.

Ashley and Amanda Gayle

Enter, the Gayle sisters.

After three years as Assistant Innkeeper for The Inn at Warner Hall in Gloucester, Virginia Amanda, 24, decided to take a brave leap and enroll in a holistic chef's program in Santa Cruz, California. So she's packed her Toyota 4Runner to the gills with shoes, clothes, pictures and cooking supplies, to road trip across the country.

"This will be my first time driving coast to coast and I could not be more excited to embark on this adventure," says Amanda. "Ashley, my best friend and slightly older sister has graciously agreed to make the trip with me. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."

On August 1, the girls will wave goodbye to Virgina and set a 10-day course for the west coast, stopping along the way to visit a selection of fine country inns and bed and breakfasts in the Select Registry portfolio, and blog about their experience.

Amanda Gayle packs her Toyota 4Runner for a journey of "Select" proportions.

Their adventure will include stops at the following inns:

John Rutledge House, Charleston, SC
1842 Inn, Macon Georgia
Fairview Inn, Jackson, Mississippi
Inn Above Onion Creek, Kyle, Texas
El Farolito, Santa Fe, New Mexico
Villa Royale, Palm Springs, California
Ballard Inn, Ballard, California

Amanda adds, "In the past few years I have become very familiar with Select Registry and what they stand for. With that said, I cannot wait to experience these properties and share them with you!"
