Country Gardens and Wilderness Vistas-
Still relatively unknown, the gardens of the South and West Puget Sound areas offer locals and visitors alike an opportunity to experience a huge variety of species and garden styles. At sea level, especially along the water, the climate is so mild that it seldom freezes. Yet within 50 miles the peaks of the Cascade and Olympic Ranges have summers that last only a few short weeks. Settlers here came from all over the world and many brought plants from home. Daffodils, hyacinth, tulips, lillies and crocus cover hundreds of acres (some of these may also be found in Mt.
