Summit County Colorado- Breckenridge, Colorado was founded in 1860 during the height of the gold boom. The Breckenridge region produced the largest gold nugget in Colorado, a 13 pound nugget named "Tom's Baby" and now is one of the states largest historic districts. The town has preserved its Victorian past and has more than 100 buildings on the National Registry of Historic Places. The spirit of adventure that started with the gold rush still exists today!
