Charlotte's Shore - Charlottetown

Historic Charlottetown is the largest and most centrally located town on PEI. It is the provincial capital, known as the birthplace of Canada, and home to Confederation Centre of the Arts where the musical, Anne of Green Gables plays yearly during the summer months. Since it is a port town located in a protected bay, it boasts an extensive boardwalk along the waterfront passing through three lush parks and by pleasure craft moored near shore. Visitors and locals alike can be seen enjoying the activities, restaurants and shopping offered throughout the downtown. Whether arriving by ferry or driving across the bridge, it will only take you 45 minutes to arrive in Charlottetown.

    Anne's Land - North Shore

A 20-minute drive north from Charlottetown on Brackley Point Road will bring you to a string of white sandy beaches with names like Brackley, Stanhope and Cavendish. These wonderful outdoor playgrounds form a provincial park system popular for the walking trails and golf courses as well as the beaches. The best known area is Cavendish because of its association with the L. M. Montgomery's story of Anne of Green Gables. Route #6 follows the north shore taking you from one park area to the next past fishing villages with craft stores and restaurants along the way.
