Quality Assurance
Inspections
Perfection? It's in the eye of the inspector,
er…beholder!
Select Registry carries out a quality assurance
inspection for each of its more than 400 member inns. This
program involves independent inspectors-not employees
of Select Registry-with years of experience in the hospitality
industry. The inspectors arrive unidentified, spend the night,
and evaluate the inn on a detailed point system, which translates
into a pass/fail grade for the inn. Inns applying for membership
are inspected, as are existing members on a periodic schedule.
Not all inns have what it takes to pass the inspections, and
this process provides a guarantee to the traveling public
that a Select Registry inn is in a class of its own. No
other online directory or organization of innkeepers has a
comparable inspection program!
Achieving a score of 200 points is considered
a "perfect score" for a Select Registry inspection. (In order
to pass the inspection, an inn must obtain at least 172 points.).
Inns are rated on the following categories: exterior, interior,
guest room, hospitality, dining, and security. In the past
few years, a Select few of our properties have achieved this
honor.
Simpson
House Inn (Santa Barbara, CA) The fifteen rooms of
the Simpson House Inn feature antiques, fine art, and Oriental
rugs. Fireplaces and whirlpool tubs are available in certain
rooms as well. Breakfast can be served to you in your room,
in the gardens, or in the dining room. Bicycles are available
free of charge to each guest to explore the Santa Barbara
area during their stay.
Byrn-Roberts
Inn (Murfreesboro, TN) Owned and operated by David
and Julie Becker, Byrn-Roberts has been an SR member since
2002. The Beckers know how to provide a personal touch to
each of their guests, with compliments such as fresh flowers
and bedtime chocolates in every room.
Rabbit
Hill Inn (Lower Waterford, VT) For 16 years, the Rabbit
Hill Inn has been an important member of Select Registry.
Renown for its picturesque Vermont setting and called one
of the "most romantic place(s) on the planet" by Zagat's 2005
guide, the inn offers special packages for a romantic getaway.
Specialty cooking classes with the chef are another fun way
to experience all this inn has to offer.
The
Lodge at Moosehead Lake (Greenville, ME) Located on
a 40-mile lake, The Lodge at Moosehead Lake has recently been
awarded a perfect score of 200 points. Owners Sonda and Bruce
Hamilton pay attention to every detail in each of their eight
rooms. A gourmet breakfast buffet and a variety of breakfast
entrees prepared by Bruce await their guests each morning.
The
Honor Mansion (Healdsburg, CA) The newest member of
the "200 club" and a Select Registry member since 1998, The
Honor Mansion is a luxury resort inn located in Northern California.
This inn is truly dedicated to pamper and entertain you, with
spa services, a pool, tennis courts, a PGA putting green,
and walking gardens all on their three acres of landscaped
grounds. Over 100 wineries surround this area, which could
attract the wine aficionado in you.
The
Richmont Inn (Townsend, TN) Owners Jim and Susan Hind
and their Innkeeper Nancy Schimmick pull out all of the stops
to give guests a top-quality escape to the Great Smoky Mountains
that will "refresh your body and soul." The historic Appalachian
cantilever barn, elegantly furnished with 18th Century English
antiques and French paintings, is the recipient of numerous
awards.
Stone
Hill Inn (Stowe, VT) Designed and built by innkeepers
Amy and Hap Jordan, the Inn was created to be a peaceful,
romantic getaway. Relax in your bubbling, fireside Jacuzzi
for two--every room has one! This is truly a place for couples
who treasure their time together. Chosen one of the Top Twelve
B&Bs in North America, Forbes.com 2002.
