King-sized beds await you in our original "honeymoon" suites. One is furnished in Country charm with plank wood floors, exposed beam ceiling, stone and plaster walls, large sitting area with queen sleeper sofa, breakfast nook and king-sized in-bath whirlpool and shower.
The other is all Victorian, from its ten-foot ceiling bordered by Bradbury and Bradbury gilded paper to the marble floor surrounding the in-bedroom king whirlpool with double shower heads, luxurious draped bed and sitting area. These rooms must be seen to be truly appreciated and perfectly contrast the Inn's two styles of decorating.

 

Room 2 at the Schroeder Guest HouseSchroeder Guest House

Located four doors to the north are five guest rooms in our Schroeder House. Built in 1856, and home to the Schroeder family for 136 years, the home was added to The Washington House Inn in 1993. Schroeder House guest rooms are Victorian in style, all featuring oversized whirlpool baths surrounded by hand-painted murals commissioned by local artisans. Queen-sized beds and fireplaces are found in these enchanting rooms. The front porch and magnificent perennial garden areas are the perfect places to enjoy a glass of wine. Guests of the Schroeder House of course also enjoy the wine and cheese social hour and breakfast at the main inn.

Upon entering these two level suites you will find a pencil post king bed facing a fireplace with beamed mantel. Also on the lower level is the bathroom with shower. As you climb the stairs to the second level, you will notice the skylight that offers a view of the stars as you soak in the enormous whirlpool bath, as well as yet another fireplace, large living area, and wet bar with coffee maker and refrigerator. These rooms are unlike any you will encounter in travel throughout the world.

Enter our magnificent King Suite. The lower level has a separate tub room and features the largest whirlpool in the Inn. A fireplace, shuttered windows and an abundance of greenery creates a retreat within a retreat. The downstairs living area is adjacent to the "fit for a King" bed complete with yet another fireplace. The bathroom and shower is also located on the first level. Climb a wrought-iron circular staircase rescued from one of Milwaukee's breweries to the loft area where a comfortable living space and wet bar with coffee maker and refrigerator offers a view of the open air surroundings of this great room.
