The John Rutledge House Inn, circa 1763, was built by Charleston’s first governor and signer of the U.S. Constitution, John Rutledge. This Colonial home, located on Broad Street, is Charleston’s premier Bed and Breakfast. Just minutes from Charleston’s battery, stroll the streets and alleys in the heart of the historic district and experience one of Charleston’s antebellum homes first hand. In the afternoon guests gather for tea, wine, and sherry in the ballroom where patriots, statesmen and presidents have met. Start your morning with pastries delivered to the room and end your day with chocolates at turn-down. The John Rutledge House Inn is a National Historic Landmark and a charter member of Historic Hotels of America.
