Inn at Occidental - a Sonoma Wine Country Bed and Breakfast/Inn

Ideally located a little more than an hour north of San Francisco's famed Golden Gate Bridge, the Inn is perched on a hill overlooking the quaint village of Occidental, est. 1876. At an elevation of 580 feet, the Inn is surrounded by giant Redwoods and beautiful vineyards. A short drive away is the ruggedly dramatic Sonoma coast beaches and the Armstrong State Reserve of Redwoods. Many well-known wineries are within 5 to 30 minutes from the Inn and offer complimentary tasting passes for Inn guests. The innkeepers will gladly assist with private tours and tastings at smaller boutique wineries.

The main house was built in 1876 and is the oldest surviving residential structure in town. The home was lovingly restored and opened as a bed and breakfast in 1988. An addition was built on the hillside behind the main house in 2000, adding eight rooms. All of the Courtyard rooms feature private entrances with a private porch or a balcony, gas fireplaces, over-sized jetted tubs, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, mini-fridges, and more. There is a 2,200 sq. ft. 2-bedroom vacation home adjacent to the property. Many outdoor activities nearby include ziplining, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, cycling, and shopping.

Wine Spectator named the Inn at Occidental "a hidden treasure" north of San Francisco. The Napa & Sonoma Book - A Complete Guide recommended Inn at Occidental as one their two personal favorite inns "if time is of the essence."  Recommended by Karen Brown and Andrew Harper.
