For 25 years, The Greystone Inn has been accommodating travelers with our unique & luxurious property. What first sets us apart is our location. The inn rests on the shores of Lake Toxaway, the largest private lake in North Carolina, in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains. At 3000 ft of elevation, we are blessed with four incredible seasons, featuring an average high of 80 degrees in the summer, and amazing foliage in the fall.
Of course, our location is only the beginning. Guests are offered an incredible number of ways to spend their time. For the active traveler, there’s always something to do – golf, tennis, lake activities, fitness center, hiking, and more. Lake Toxaway has accommodated discerning guests since the days when industrialists such as Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone and Thomas Edison visited in the early 20th century. Those days are locked in Lake Toxaway's history, but the same splendor and luxury can be found in today's guest accommodations at the Greystone Inn. Visitors may choose from three venues for guest accommodations: The historic Greystone Mansion - 17 guest rooms ideal for those seeking a warm, quaint, bed & breakfast type of experience, Hillmont - a more recent addition featuring lakefront Jr. Suites with more of today's modern comforts, and Lakeside, 2 Luxury Suites on the shores of Lake Toxaway with a living area separated from the bedroom by panel doors.

Food is an important part of an enjoyable getaway, and we take it seriously at The Greystone Inn! Mornings begin with high country breakfasts including Eggs Benedict, Belgian Waffles, omelets, French Toast, fresh pastries, fresh fruits, and more. Lunch can be enjoyed at Lake Toxaway Country Club or we can pack you a box lunch if you have plans to be out and about. Afternoon tea is served every day at 3 p.m. when you can indulge in a few sweets and a cup of tea on the mansion's sun porch. Evenings at the Greystone Inn begin with cocktails and complimentary hors d'oeuvres served at 6 p.m. in the Library Lounge. Dinner follows at 6:30 p.m. in the Lakeside Dining Room and the Lakeside Terrace. Guests enjoy a fine dining experience including appetizer, soup, salad, sorbet and entrée of either seafood, fowl or meat, topped off by an enticing selection of decadent desserts crafted by our own pastry chef. The Greystone Inn is also proud to offer an extensive wine list featuring a variety of wines from around the world.

The Greystone Inn provides the perfect blend of privacy and amenities to host your next corporate meeting or executive retreat. We're all business when it comes to making sure you have everything you need for an effective and productive business session. Of course, most groups who visit our property also want to take advantage of the incredible amenities at their fingertips, including our newly designed Kris Spence Golf Course.
Our function space includes an executive boardroom with mahogany conference tables and basic audio/video equipment, two large rooms that can accommodate either banquet or meeting needs, as well as numerous outdoor locations ideal for a relaxing reception before dinner. All indoor locations feature wireless internet.
Many past groups have told us that our best attribute is that we have the charm of a small property where groups aren't lost in the shuffle, mixed with all of the facilities and activities usually only found at big resorts.

The incredible lakefront location and elegant ambiance of The Greystone Inn has allowed our property to be the setting for countless weddings over the years. Between the Inn and adjacent Country Club, there are an array of incredible indoor and outdoor venues for any type of wedding event. Additionally, our accommodations allow for the smallest of weddings, with only a bride & groom, to large destination weddings where our entire inn, plus nearby rental homes, are used. Our Group & Events Coordinator is awaiting your call and will work with you to create the wedding of your dreams.
