The Four Columns Inn was lovingly built in 1832 by Pardon Kimball to replicate the childhood home of his southern wife. Today that home is an elegant country inn with 15 stunning rooms and suites, many with fireplaces, two-person whirlpools and soaking tubs. All rooms have private baths. Situated on the historic Newfane Green (unchanged since the 1830s), the property includes 150 acres of rolling hills, an inviting stream, outdoor pool, and exquisite gardens. Our renowned restaurant, beautiful gardens and exceptional Southern Vermont inn accommodations set the stage. Complementing the inn guestrooms and gracious common areas, our expansive lawn extends to a beautiful stream and private mountain. This is a favorite location for weddings, dinners and receptions. We can serve up to 100 people with rented tent facilities on our grounds.
A Year-Round Event Location
In the warmer months, your guests can relax on the front porch, or explore our great outdoors – with perennial gardens, outdoor pool, and wooded hillside to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. In colder months, the inn’s warm fires and cozy comfort complement crisp winter days. We can accommodate up to 70 guests for indoor gatherings in our living room, tavern and dining room with window or fireside tables.

We will help you plan a special menu to make your event extraordinary, whether it is an intimate dinner for two, a family gathering, or a larger group event or wedding. Dining and service at The Four Columns Inn are among the finest in New England. The same care and attention to detail that have made our restaurant renowned are reflected in the quality of our catered events in the inn, or on the grounds.
Custom Event Planning & Support
We have years of experience in the planning and execution of special events. Our long standing relationships with a network of vendors assure that you will be working with proven suppliers familiar with our property. Tents and setups, exquisite wedding cakes and desserts, florists, photographers, classical musicians, DJso or live bands are all part of our repertoire.
Our special package for Smaller Weddings and Elopements
Have your wedding ceremony in our cozy living room by the fire followed by a celebratory dinner in our warm and inviting dining room. In summer you may prefer to have your wedding outside, next to our stream and flower gardens at the base of our private mountain.
To conduct your ceremony you may select a local Justice of the Peace, or Pastor Sandy from the Newfane Congregational Church just next door. Our Pastry Chef
