Beautiful Lake Oconee is one of Georgia's largest and newest lakes, in fact it is the second largest lake in the state. It was formed in 1979 and is located near Greensboro, Georgia just a short drive east from Atlanta and west of Augusta. The lake is surrounded by gently rolling hills of the Georgia Piedmont region. The surface area of the lake is 19,050 acres, and the shoreline is 374 miles. For generations, people have recognized the restorative power of the waters of Lake Oconee. More than a century ago, the Creek Indians lived beside a river they called Okoni or "The Great Water." Today those waters form a magnificent lake, renowned for its natural beauty and superb recreation. Cuscowilla guests can participate in a multitude of exciting water sports. Try your luck at fishing for the highly regarded Georgia largemouth bass, or spend an afternoon canoeing or kayaking upon the calm pristine waters of Lake Oconee. Cuscowilla's 700 acres form a series of peninsulas, bordered by a remarkable six and one-half miles of shoreline on Lake Oconee. Say I Do...and We will Do the Rest
We at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee would like to congratulate you on your engagement. We are excited for this special time in your life and would love to have the opportunity to assist you in planning your memorable day.
Imagine saying your "I Do's" overlooking the beautiful Lake Oconee. Receptions can be held at The Waterside Restaurant, a short walking distance from the ceremony site. Included in your package is the facility rental and consists of the restaurant and ceremony location, tables and chairs inside the restaurant, existing tables and chairs on the patio, linens in house colors, china, silverware and glassware for the reception.
The Golf House will host smaller receptions, typically receptions of 75 to 80 people. Included in your package for the Golf House Grill is the restaurant venue, tables and chairs inside the restaurant, existing tables and chairs on the patio, linens in our house colors, china, silverware, and glassware. For the Golf House Grill, valet service is required and will be an additional fee.
For your overnight guests we offer 146 sleeping rooms which include Golf Cottages, Lake Villas or Lodge Villas. We will offer a special room rate just for your special day.
As a special Thank You for choosing Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee, the bride and groom will receive a complimentary wedding night stay in a one bedroom accommodation (based on availability), one night in a one bedroom accommodation on their one year anniversary (based on availability), a complimentary round of golf for four to be used on the wedding weekend (based on availability), and dinner for two at the Waterside Restaurant to be used before the wedding and only for the bride and groom (alcohol excluded).
