"The Copper Beech Inn is a lovely example of what Americans look for in a three- or four-star country inn" (The New York Times, July 2003). This gracious Victorian, in Ivoryton—one of three picturesque villages that make up the town of Essex— has been selected as the “Best Country Inn in Connecticut” by Connecticut Magazine, for three consecutive years. Just minutes from the scenic Connecticut River and Long Island Sound, the Inn is just a two-hour drive from New York City or Boston.
The Inn’s highly acclaimed AAA Four-Diamond restaurant, Pip's at the Copper Beech Inn, features snug, distinctive dining rooms with an “updated French” menu complemented by wine from the 4,000+ bottle award-winning wine cellar (Wine Spectator’s “Best of Award of Excellence”). "The dining experience here is always marvelous…Desserts are uniformly outstanding. And the wine list is pretty spectacular" (The New York Times July, 2003).
