The Blue Hill Inn of Maine is a bed and breakfast inn, filled with history and antiques, located in the charming seaside village of Blue Hill, Maine.  The small town wraps around Blue Hill Bay and is centrally located for exploring Acadia National Park, Deer Isle and Stonington, Castine, Bar Harbor, and DownEast Maine. Blue Hill Mountain offers great hiking and stunning vistas.  The Federal period inn has been the village hostelry since 1840 and is a short walk from the village center, fine dining, art and antique galleries, and Kneisel Hall Chamber Music School.  Luxurious linens, fireplaces, hors d’oeuvres each evening, a three-course breakfast from a varied menu, and attentive, friendly service create an intimate atmosphere for relaxation. The area boasts commanding coastal views, kayaking and sailing on pristine bays and ocean, trail and mountain hiking, world class artisans, and the finest of cuisines from lobster in the rough to candlelight dining prepared from local, fresh organically grown ingredients.

The rooms at the Blue Hill Inn have ensuite bathrooms, central or room air conditioning, pampering amenities, and a pillow-chocolate turn-down service. Multi-course breakfasts served in the sun-filled dining room; afternoon coffee, tea, and pastries; and evening hors d'oeuvres are offered daily and are included in the room rates. The inn has a full liquor license and offers a selection of fine liquors, Maine beers, and wines by the glass and bottle.  Staff are available to assist with luggage, itineraries, and queries of all kinds.

The inn's gardens have comfortable chairs and a hammock for reading or relaxing. The library, with its game table and extensive collection of books, many by Maine authors, is a lovely spot to curl up to read, as is the parlor with its wood burning fireplace.

More about our rooms

Breakfast is served each morning between 8 and 9:30 a.m. in our sun-filled dining room. Fresh fruit, assorted juices, and freshly baked sweet breads accompany a choice of cooked-to-order entrees or homemade granola. Blueberry pancakes, waffles with strawberries, brie and roasted red pepper omelets, and amaretto french toast are favorites among guests. Local ingredients, including organic Maine maple syrup, are featured, as well as organic coffee from Maine roasted coffee beans. We even offer eggs fresh from the inns flock (aracauna chickens who live about a mile from the inn). With all our offerings, food allergies and restrictions are easily accommodated. We are also able to prepare breakfast to go if your schedule necessitates an early departure.
