Richard Sharp-Smith, the supervising architect of the Biltmore Estate, built this home for Mary S. Wolcott in 1899. The Inn is on the National Register of Historic buildings and remains true to the original renderings. It has been beautifully restored to reflect the historic charm of the era, while providing modern comforts. Located on Montford Avenue, within the city of Asheville, this is the premiere location to enjoy all the attractions of the city and surrounding area. We are within a half mile, walking distance, to the culture, galleries, shops and restaurants of the city. Asheville is vibrant small city and is a Mecca of fine dining and unique local restaurants, which feature local and organic foods from our area. The shops offer unique merchandise from the local and regional artists who live and work here. Asheville is second only to Miami for its art deco architecture and has retained much of the architecture from the early days. It is only a few minutes drive to the Biltmore estate, with all it’s grandeur of a bygone era, the Blue Ridge Parkway with its magnificent views, and the Blue Ridge Mountains with convenient access to unlimited outdoor activities. White water sports, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, Mountain biking, golfing, hot air ballooning, and horseback riding are all available in the area. The Inn is perfectly situated on 3/4ths of an acre of beautifully landscaped gardens, featuring two tranquil Koi ponds. We offer eight guest rooms, 6 in the main house, two pet friendly suites in the original, newly renovated carriage house. All guest rooms are elegantly decorated and comfortably furnished with an eclectic blend of antiques, and all offer private bath en-suite. We have recently redecorated and renovated to showcase the outstanding architecture, while providing our guests with a luxurious retreat. Our service is warm and professional, as we strive to assist each guest in navigating the city and surrounding mountains as well as our recommended must do, eat and see! Come and experience for yourself real value, real luxury and real quality. We are featured in 1000 Places to See Before You Die, “quite possibly the finest inn in Asheville,” The Sunday London Times, Best Downtown B&B Travel Smart, and featured in Travel and Leisure magazine.
