1. Sift the dry ingredients: flour, salt, sugar, soda, cloves, ginger, and
cinnamon together in a large bowl.
2. In another bowl, mix the oil, egg, molasses, and water. Add this to the
dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in the raisins. You may wish to mix with
your hands.
3. Press the dough evenly into a buttered 9" X 13" baking pan.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 22 minutes.
5. Cool and cut into squares.
