- Hiking: The Chattahoochee National Forest practically surrounds the inn with about 750,000 acres containing hundreds of miles of trails, numerous lakes, mountain streams, and nature preserves. Tallulah Gorge State Park, just 10 minutes away, has an excellent Interpretative Center and many nature based programs, spectacular views, hiking trails for every ability level, and a new swinging bridge that spans the gorge.
Two other nearby State Parks are Black Rock Mountain and Moccasin Creek.
Some other nearby hiking trails are Panther Creek, Minehaha, Coleman River, and Bartram Trail. - Golf: There are several golf courses

- Horseback Riding: There are several stables in the area that offer horseback riding. None of these places have web-sites that we know of, so you'll have to contact them the old-fashioned way.

The Dillard House - Dillard, 706/746-5348 - Shopping: There are many unique shopping opportunities in Clarkesville, Clayton, and other towns, plus a few in out-of-the-way places.
Antiques, Folk Art, Pottery and other fine craft shops are plentiful. Each guest receives a Welcome Book written by owner, Barrie Aycock, that contains her recommended stops for the best shopping in the area.
Locally Handcrafted Furniture - is widely available. Most of it is country pine, but there are some other furniture crafters who make individual one-of-a-kind items in other more unique styles. - Outlet Stores: Tanger Outlet, one of the South's largest is located near Commerce, about one hour south on US 441. About an hour in the other direction, North Georgia Premium Outlets off GA 400 has a great selection of upscale stores like Williams-Sonoma, Crate & Barrel, and Saks 5th Ave, Barneys NY, and Brooks Brothers.
- Whitewater Rafting: Nearby lakes and rivers offer world-class whitewater rafting as well as paddling on calmer waters. Area outfitters like Wildwood Outfitters offer guided trips and boat rentals. More information on these services is available at the inn.
- Fishing: North Georgia mountain streams and lakes offer excellent fishing. Local streams and lakes in the National Forest are stocked regularly with rainbow trout and other angler's favorites. Area outfitters such as Unicoi Outfitters offer guided trout fishing. Children can fish free from stocked ponds at Moccasin Creek State Park. More information is available at the inn.

- Bowling: A newly opened, family-oriented bowling alley, with pool table located in facility, and ajacent to an antique/arts and crafts mall is a short distance drive from the inn.

- Movie Theater: The newly opened Habersham Hills Cinemas 6 is located a short distance drive from the inn. Current, first-run motion pictures are offered in a first-class movie theatre with a family-oriented, clean and secure environment.
