Flavorful food, made with only the freshest ingredients and artfully presented, is an important tradition at Adair. Our intimate dining room with fireplace and wonderful views of gardens front and back is filled with enticing aromas both morning and night.
Breakfast
Our full breakfast includes not only a buffet of baked granola, yogurt, bananas, a variety of fruit juices, milk, water (both iced and hot), and freshly brewed coffee, but also fresh fruit cup, piping hot popovers, and a hot entrée served at your private table. Farm fresh eggs, apple cider-cured bacon, maple sausage, freshly baked breads, fresh herbs grown at Adair are but a few of the tastes we tempt you with. Culinary skills are in evidence each day from 8:30 to 9:15am, with coffee available for early risers by 7:00am.
Dinner
Dinner at Adair should not be missed. Our menu is diverse, our food exciting and the atmosphere elegant. It is everything you have come to expect at Adair... deliberately small, naturally quiet.
We are proud to announce the addition of Chef Jeanne McCredie to the Adair family. Jeanne comes to us a highly accomplished chef, having earned the Culinary Excellence Award, a Bronze Medal at the Boston Food Show and the respect of her peers and customers across the country.
Adair's dining room is open for dinner year-round, Thursday through Monday (and also Tuesdays 9/25 through 10/16). Seating is available from 5:30 to 8:30pm and reservations are required.
Other dining options, both fine and casual, are located nearby. We will gladly make reservations for our guests at Adair or at other local restaurants. We have a notebook with representative menus in our living room for our guests' use.
Afternoon Tea
Tea is served daily at 4PM in Adair's spacious and comfortable living room. We serve locally produced Portsmouth Fine Teas, accompanied by sweets baked by our innkeepers. Countless guests ask whether we'll share our recipes, and the answer is always "yes".
