When considering North Carolina travel, stay at The Aerie Bed & Breakfast where we strive to make your visit not only comfortable, but memorable as well. Located in historic New Bern, our inn is a wonderful choice whether you are planning a private retreat just for you, a romantic getaway for two, or a family vacation in NC. During your stay, you will enjoy discovering all of the New Bern area attractions and activities the town has to offer. The city also hosts a wide variety of annual special events and festivals, making the Aerie Inn a year-round vacation destination. Travel discounts are available for AAA members, eligible seniors and active military personnel.

All of our rooms include a full breakfast featuring a choice of three hot entrees:
Breakfast is served from 8 am to 9 am. Please check with us if you require an earlier time in order to make a business appointment or golf tee time. We are pleased to prepare for special diets if possible and when requested in advance. We also host gatherings in the evening featuring wine and hors d'oeuvres. These socials are hosted in our parlor or in the back courtyard, weather permitting, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm daily. Wine and soft drinks are served in addition to a variety of appetizers.

Reservations:
Reservations are taken up to one year in advance. The Aerie books up well ahead of time during the summer and on holidays so we strongly suggest making reservations well in advance to make sure we can accommodate your requests.

Deposits and Payment Terms:
There is a two-night minimum stay on holidays, weekends and during special events. Single Friday or Saturday nights do become available sometimes if another guest has reserved a Thursday/Friday or a Saturday/Sunday stay. Please call for details. The Aerie accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover, Cash, Personal Checks and Travelers Checks. At the time of reservation your credit card information will be taken to hold your reservation. Charges will not be billed until your arrival. If reserving the entire inn for a special function such as a wedding, reunion or conference, a non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total is required.

Cancellation Policy:
Inns are significantly affected by untimely cancellations. To minimize this problem we ask that you be fairly confident of your travel arrangements when making a reservation. We understand however, that unforeseen changes happen; therefore our cancellation policy is as follows:

With more than 72 hours (3 days) notice given prior to check-in time of 3 pm: A $25.00 administrative fee will be billed to your credit card.

With less than 72 hours (3 days) notice is given prior to check-in time of 3 pm: A $25.00 administrative fee will be charged to your credit card. Additionally, a minimum of one night's stay will be charged to your credit card unless we are able to rebook the room for the whole period of the original reservation. If we are unable to rebook the room, the amount charged to you, at our option, may be applied to a return visit to The Aerie within six months. All other restrictions apply.

We cannot be responsible for travel delays, health issues, inclement weather, or early departures. A reservation made using a prior balance carried over by a previous cancellation will become non-refundable for a future stay regardless of the date canceled. Early departures and No Shows will be charged the full amount of the reservation.

Our Hurricane Policy: If Craven County is issued a Mandatory Evacuation Order a refund will be given. If evacuation order is not issued for Craven County, a credit for another stay will be given should our guest decide not to stay/arrive.

Check-In and Check-Out:
Check-in is anytime between 3 pm and 6 pm. Please let us know if you will be arriving outside that time so that we may make necessary arrangements. Please call several days prior to your stay to provide us with the anticipated time of your arrival. Check-out is 11:00 am.

Smoking:
The Aerie is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is permitted only on the second floor front balcony, the rear deck seating area and the courtyard.

Pets:
While we cannot accommodate pets at The Aerie, there is a pet resort located nearby. The Pet Spa can be reached at 252-633-3933.

Housekeeping Services:
Housekeeping is provided on a daily basis. Please let us know if you have any special needs and we will make our best efforts to accommodate you.

Telephone Services:
All rooms have telephones. Local calls are free. A calling card is necessary for long distance calls. Our reservation line cannot transfer calls to your room but we will contact you or take messages prior to 9 pm. After 9 pm, we will contact you only in case of an emergency.

Faxing services are available for a nominal charge.

Parking:
One parking space is provided for each guestroom. There is no additional charge for parking.

Wheelchair Accessibility:
As we are an historic building, The Aerie is not 100% ADA compliant. Please call with questions.

AAA, AARP and Active Military Discounts:
The Aerie offers a 10% discount to our guests that notify us when making reservations that they are an active AAA or AARP member. This discount also applies to those on active military status. The valid membership card must be presented upon check-in. Please contact us for discounts on extended stays. Discounts requested after check-in will not be granted. Discounts are not valid during holidays, special events and weekends.
