About This Property

Originally, the Inn on Lake Granbury bed and breakfast in North Texas was known as the “Doyle House,” built by Dr. John Doyle, a Civil War Confederate surgeon, in 1880. He and his brother, James, settled with their families in Granbury after the war and became prominent citizens in town. Over 100+ years, the property has changed hands numerous times and undergone several renovations.

The current owners purchased the lakefront property in October 2003. In keeping with their goal of owning and operating a Texas Hill Country style inn, they decided to renovate and restore the main house, carriage house and poolhouse, and started the project in May 2004. The intent in renovating the property was to enhance its unique character while adding modern touches and upscale amenities for its guests.

In addition to luxurious guestrooms, guests can enjoy the salt pool with waterfall and tanning ledge, relax on the swing under large live oak trees that overlook the lake, or take a leisurely walk along our crushed granite pathways to water's edge.
