The turn of the 19th century Coombs Inn are three mansions that feature 14 foot high ceilings, 16 fireplaces and antique furniture of the period. Guests arrive into the lofty wood-paneled entrance where an ornate oak staircase curves upward past leaded glass windows. Paintings and historical photographs compliment the Victorian decor. Imported English fabrics frame large bay windows, and oriental carpets compliment gleaming hardwood floors.
Each of the 23 distinctively decorated guest rooms has its own private bath, telephone, remote control cable television, bathrobes, coffee maker, silver ice bucket, and spring water. Our complimentary breakfast features baked Stratas with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and a daily variety of ingredients, such as ham, sausage, tomatoes, mushrooms, artichoke hearts and more. We also have a buffet of fresh fruit, many flavors of home baked muffins such as blueberry, sunrise, orange and cranberry, cereals, yogurt, juices, milk, and starbucks coffee, afternoon tea and home-baked cookies.
The Inn's beach chairs, umbrellas, and towels are available for the beautiful beaches of St. George Island. Guests enjoy free use of our bicycles to cruise around town (we even have a tandem). For those who want to stay active, try fishing, sailing, or a canoe trip to the barrier islands or Apalachicola River. For those who have come to relax, our rocking chairs and porch swings under ceiling fans await you on the verandas.
Camellia Gardens and Carriage House await your weddings, receptions and meetings. The rich decor features antique accents, a piano, and six French doors which open onto the lush gardens and our lovely Gazebo.
