Atwood Lake is a protected natural environment constructed in the late 30’s. With 28 miles of lake shoreline, a surface area of over 1500 acres and miles of lush terrain, it is a unique area preserved to provide the perfect setting for picnics, hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, golfing and other outdoor activities.

At Whispering Pines Bed & Breakfast springtime awakens the dogwoods and daffodils.  In the summer boating, swimming, fishing, golf and hiking in the park are available on the lake.  When fall arrives it brings with it a specatacular color show surrounding the shoreline as well as the countryside. When the snow flies a winter calm of quiet enjoying total relaxation.  The perfect getaway any time of the year.

The grounds overlook Atwood Lake and has many seating areas where you can enjoy the view watching a sail boat race, admiring the variety of colorful birds and flowers or sipping wine on the hillside overlooking our man-made ponds and waterfalls.
