| | | | Anyone who knows about the Fourth of July in Castine dares not miss it. The day starts early with a 5K race followed by a children’s costume parade on our town common that looks like it’s out of a Norman Rockwell painting. There are old fashion potato sack races, a tug of war, feats of human strength and a dunking tank for charitable causes. Concerts on the green happen in the afternoon followed by our annual Barbeque on the porch! At nightfall there is a concert on the town dock followed by fireworks on the harbor!! For those who enjoy a front row seat there are kayak trips to watch the festivities from the water. The best part of all, you can walk to everything.
