Visitors come to the island by one of two ferry lines or one of several airlines. Both of the ferry lines depart from Hyannis on Cape Cod. The only ferry service that accommodates vehicles is the Steamship Authority and advance reservations are necessary. Reservations are also recommended for both ferry lines' high speed ferries.
There is year-round direct air service from Hyannis, Boston, Martha's Vineyard, New Bedford, and Providence, RI. Seasonal service is available from LaGuardia, NY, Newark, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, and Washington, DC.

By Car
From New York City (270 Miles)
I-95 to Providence, I-195 to Wareham, Route 25 to the Bourne Bridge (follow the signs for the Cape and Islands), Route 6 to Exit 6: Route 132 into Hyannis. Follow the signs to ferry docks or airport. Approximately 4 1/2-5 hours depending on traffic.
From Boston (80 Miles)
Follow Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) to Route 6 over the Sagamore Bridge, to Route 132 into Hyannis. Follow the signs to ferry docks or airport. Approximately 1 1/2 hours depending on traffic.
Directions to Union Street Inn
By Foot
From Steamship Ferry, turn left onto Easy Street and walk to cobblestoned Main Street. Turn right onto Main Street, take a left onto Union Street after you've passed Nantucket Looms and you're almost home! The Union Street Inn is a couple of doors down on your right.
From Hy-Line Ferry, walk straight up cobblestoned Main Street. Take the 4th left onto Union Street after you've passed Nantucket Looms. The Union Street Inn is a couple of doors down on your right.
After driving off the Steamboat, turn left onto South Water Street which becomes Washington Street after crossing cobblestoned Main Street. Turn right onto Coffin Street. Your next right turn will put you onto Union Street. The Union Street Inn will be on your left. Drive past the Inn and pull into our parking lot.
From the Airport, follow Old South Road to the Rotary (it's the only rotary on the island!). Exit 2/3rds of the way around, onto Orange Street. Orange Street becomes Union Street when you must turn right. After passing the Fifty-Six Union restaurant on your right, continue straight on Union Street. The Union Street Inn will be on your left. Drive past the Inn and pull into our parking lot.
