                            Breakfast

Wake each morning to the aroma of freshly ground coffee and specialty teas.  Relax with a cup in your room, on the front veranda or on the balcony which faces east and is flooded with morning sunlight!  Then, join us between 8 and 9 am in our summery breakfast porch for a fresh morning feast.  Private tables for two are set with fine white linens, antique china, silver and fresh flowers.

You may begin with;

 A freshly blended fruit smoothie or our healthy homemade carrot-ginger juice.

 Broiled grapefruit bubbling with brown sugar and warmed Maine blueberries.

 Chilled cantaloupe and peach soup with lemon zest (in season, the cantaloupe is from our own gardens).

And perhaps followed by;

 Spicy Maine crab cake eggs benedict served with caramelized pears and sweet potato & banana mash.

 Custard rich French Toast smothered with pan-sauteed bananas, golden pineapple and toasted coconut served with crisp bacon and a fresh fruit-kabob.

 Maine smoked shrimp and brie omelets with homemade cranberry scones, oven roasted potatoes & rosemary picked  that morning aside a poached pear stufffed with fresh berries and drizzled with raspberry coulis.

Edible flowers adorn the plate; guitar music by Andres Segovia, piano by John Field or Bach Cello Suites, fill the morning air; the humming birds are at their feeders and your day begins in paradise.

                                  Dinner

From mid-June through mid-October, Blair Hill Inn becomes home to inland Maine's finest restaurant.  Rated as one of the top 10 restaurants in the state, the inn opens for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Executive Chef, Amy Oliver, who has graced the kitchens of  Martha Stewart and Stephen King, combines wholesome, fresh ingredients with a lighter touch to create the acclaimed five-course meals.  The contemporary menu, with several options per course, offers cuisine that's both earthy and sophisticated.  It is defined by fresh, seasonal ingredients picked from the inn's extensive gardens and greenhouse and an adventurous spirit.  Need we mention that the entrees are girlled to perfection on an indoor Aztec wood burning grill?

Begin your evening with a cocktail on the broad porch of the inn overlooking Moosehead Lake.  Jazz, Caribbean and Reggae music create a relaxed, festive feeling.  This feeling makes its way with you as you are seated in the bright, breezy cafe porch or in the beautiful formal dining room.  Oil lanterns, and the exquisite glow of the Tiffany chandelier and wall sconces cast a warm and inviting hue throughout the rooms.  Candle light dances in the dining room's fireplace, turn-of-the-century oil paintings grace the walls, and bouquets created from the plethera of wildflowers and cutting gardens are placed in beautiful arrangements.  But, oh, that view, from each and every table is what you'll never forget.

Should you choose the Apple Wood Grilled Chipotle Crusted Rack of Lamb with Chevre Tarragon Mousse and a Porcini Ragout or the Grilled Fillet of Wahoo with Rock Shrimp Etoufee and Coconut Jasmine Rice in a pool of Cantaloupe water? The gracious and attentive wait staff will help you with that decision or perhaps another bottle of wine from Blair Hill Cellars will help.

Linger after dinner with coffee or a fine port on the veranda.  Watch as the colors of the setting sun stream across the sky and reflect upon the lake waters.  You get the idea...
