SKIERS’ STRATA  

Ingredients
 
16 slices bread 8 ounces old cheddar cheese, sliced 6 slices ham 6 large eggs 3 cups milk 1 teaspoon dry mustard 1/2 teaspoon pepper 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce dash Tabasco Sauce 1/2 cup finely chopped green onion 1/4 cup chopped green pepper 1/4 to 1/2 cup melted butter or margarine Crushed cornflakes  

Directions
 
Evening preparation 30 min. Trim crusts from bread and arrange eight slices in the bottom of a well greased 9x13 inches glass baking dish, fitting them in closely. Cover with cheese slices, then ham. Top with remaining eight slices of bread. Layer of cheese. Beat eggs; add milk, mustard, pepper Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce, green onion and green pepper. Whisk to mix, pour over top of bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. In the morning, sprinkle with crushed cereal and drizzle top of bread slices with butter. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Let stand 6 minutes before serving. This will puff up beautifully, can be served with a med. Salsa, or boiled tomatoes and basil for breakfast, or brunch, accompany with a potato crisp such as Rosti and a green salad. Skiers will devour for a heavy brunch or lunch
