Have you ever heard of switchel? Our children sell it, along with lemonade, outside our house for 25 cents a glass. They mix 1 gallon of water, 2 1/2 cups of sugar, 1 cup of dark molasses, 1/2 cup of white or cider vinegar and 2 tsps of ground ginger. It is very sweet and has a strong gingery taste, but boy is it refreshing on a really scorching day!
