Meet the Innkeepers

Mary Jo & Michael Salmon

Mary Jo Brink and Michael Salmon took over the Inn in May of 1998, adding their personal touches and bringing to the Inn over 30 years of combined hotel and restaurant experience. Some of the properties they worked at: • Windsor Casino – Windsor Ontario (across from Detroit) • Sonesta Resorts at Seaport Village – Aruba, Netherlands Antilles • Hyatt Resorts and Hotels • Lake Tahoe at Incline Village, NV • Grand Champions Resort – near Palm Springs, CA • Grand Cypress Resort – Orlando, FL • Greenwich, CT • Caesars Hotel and Casino, Atlantic City, NJ • Aquavit Restaurant - Manhattan, NY. Michael was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota and received a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Resort Management from Sierra Nevada College (transferring 1 ½ years of credits from the University of Wisconsin-Stout). He then went on to Culinary School at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York; where he graduated with honors in May of 1988. Mary Jo was born and raised in St. Louis, Michigan and went to college at Central Michigan University studying Hotel and Restaurant Management. Working in restaurants since she was 16, Mary Jo moved to Florida to join the Management team at the Grand Cypress Resort, where the two met in 1987.
