Local Attraction

Innkeepers get asked lots of interesting questions. Maybe you’re not sent into convulsive spasms of laughter when asked "What time does the vortex close?" but it certainly makes our day. (Actually the vortexes close at 11:00 p.m.) Often phone callers ask other, less provocative questions like "So what’s to do in Sedona?" Boy do they get an earful! Most of our guests like some or all of the following:

Relaxing... These are the folks to envy! We caught these guests enjoying some of that rare “quality time” couples seem to be short on. Note the contended look on their faces. They probably slept in the Duck Pond last night.

Other Stuff... Our local entrepreneurs can help you become one with nature if you haven’t maxed out the plastic. Several Jeep companies and horse stables take our guests into the back country. Other guests like hot air balloons, helicopters, or bi-planes. Basically, if it moves they have it in Sedona. For more information on Sedona and all it has to offer, visit Sedona On-Line

Attractions:

  • Grand Canyon: The best way to see the Grand Canyon is to stay with us for a few days. Drive up and back in the same day. It’s a beautiful 2 ½ hour drive each way and definitely very worthwhile.

Activities:

  • Golf: Innkeeper Rick’s favorite subject. Ask anybody who knows Arizona golf including the two 18 hole courses in Sedona and they’ll tell you two things; Sedona golf is an excellent value and it’s played on two beautiful courses. Call us for details.
  • Restaurants: Everybody's favorite subject. Sedona has incredible choices when it comes to the evening meal. (“But what about lunch?” the would-be guest asks. “You won’t need lunch after breakfast at our Inn” the innkeeper replies. But back to dinner.) Practically every ethnic choice is represented as well as several steak houses. We keep a basket of menus from our favorite restaurants and try to keep up on who's serving the most tender ribs.
  • Spa/Massage: Innkeeper Pam’s favorite subject. We work with several excellent massage therapists who can visit you here at the Inn or provide massage services off-site.
  • Sight-seeing: Too relaxed to hike? Or maybe just too full from Chef Karen's breakfast feast? No problem. We can direct you to nearby places like the abandoned mining town of Jerome or to ancient Indian ruins all easily accessible by car.
  • Shopping: Bring your credit card! Buying neat stuff is a major interest of approximately half of our guests and tolerated by their mates. Leave your car and walk to scores of great art galleries, clothing boutiques, and gift stores. Be home by 5:00 for hors d’oeuvres if you can.
  • Hiking: and Mountain Biking. Sedona has miles and miles of absolutely stunning hiking and biking trails. We and our staff have logged many a mile around here. We have our favorites and are happy to share them with you.
  • Tours: Guided Trips: For those of you who want a unique Sedona nature experience, we can't recommend highly enough the services of Dennis Andres and his partner Ben Jayston.
We have a close relationship with Dennis and Ben who often visit the inn to be of help with guests looking for outdoor tips. Best of all are the private trips they provide. It's an experience that is deep and rich, exploring both the nature and spirit of Sedona "off the beaten path". Dennis has authored several popular books. The first, titled "What is a Vortex?", can explain what's behind Sedona's magical beauty. His "Insider's Guide to Sedona" provides great suggestions on where to eat and things to do in the town of Sedona. For the casual and avid hikers "Sedona's Top 10 Hikes" book serves up a delighful array of information on hikes, flora, fauna, history and local geology. We suggest booking ahead if you'd like to go out with Dennis and Ben on what guests have called a truly "spiritual adventure". They can be contacted at www.metaadventures.com.
