Attractions:

  • Wisp Ski and Golf Resort: The Inn is located adjacent to the Wisp Ski and Golf Resort.
  • Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water: Frank Lloyd Wright's famous residence, Falling Water is located within an hour's drive from the Inn. It is closed in January and February.
  • Frank Lloyd Wright's Kentuck Knob: Frank Lloyd Wright's architecture is featured in this residence, just several miles from Falling Water. Open all year
  • Western Maryland State Parks: There are approximately 5 State Parks located within 50 miles of the Inn. Hiking, Biking, canoeing, kayaking, cross country skiing and bird watching are popular activities.

Outdoors there is a wildly popular fire pit, amply stocked with logs and marshmallows, where guests gather nightly to enjoy one another's after dinner company. Even shy and introverted guests, after an hour around the campfire, become good friends with erstwhile strangers. Launch the Inn's 5 kayaks and canoes for a paddle about the lake to work off that ample breakfast. Afternoons find guests all around the inn's grounds lounging, swimming at the dock, or just taking in the views from patio perches. Explore the neighborhood on provided bicycles or hike the mountain trails and spread out in the lake side hammock to rest those weary legs. 6 PM brings the ever popular hour long cruise down the lake aboard the good ship "Tight Squeeze" the inn's pontoon boat. In the snowy winter, the inn offers convenience and discounted ski lift passes and can make reservations for tubing at Wisp Ski resort across the road. Energetic guests can venture out on the inn's snow shoes. We get well above 100 inches of snow each winter – more than Buffalo, New York.

  • Boating: Power boat rentals are nearby.
  • Boat cruises: From May to October, weather permitting, the Inn's 28' pontoon boat motors out each afternoon taking guests on one of our lake tours
  • Canoeing/Kayaking: Paddle one of the Inn's canoes or kayaks about the lake.
  • Biking: Pedal the Inn's Bianchi hybrid 18 speed bike out onto the many well-paved lakeside and country roads.
  • Tennis: Inn guests have free open use of the Lake Pointe Community tennis court across the street from the inn.
  • Ski Area: The Inn is located directly across the street from the Wisp Ski and Golf Resort
  • Golf: The Inn is located directly across the street from the Wisp Ski and Golf Resort.
