Long Island: the East End

The East End of New York's Long Island, jutting 100 miles into the Atlantic Ocean, is home to some of the world's most spectacular ocean beaches, pristine bays and estuaries, secluded freshwater ponds, and pine forests with quiet nature trails. "The Hamptons," on the "South Fork" of Long Island, are increasingly becoming a year-round destination as visitors from around the world discover the many pleasures our area has to offer. The "North Fork" is still rural in nature, with farmland and vineyards filling most of the landscape.
