"Ontario's most intimate and charming golf resort!"

Canada's Golf Course Ranking Magazine *
"the best golf course, in the best
shape, and with the best set-up that I have played this season"
Bob Panasik, an 11-time participant in the
PGA US Open, describing The Briars Golf Course, June 2002
Golf has been a Briars tradition since 1922 when the original 9-hole course was designed by Stanley Thompson, Canada's
premier golf course architect. In 1971, the Golf Club directors contracted
another of Canada's notable golf course architects, C.E. "Robbie"
Robinson, to expand the course to 18 holes.
His work resulted in a Par 71 challenge, well protected greens, rolling fairways, water hazards, and magnificent Black River vistas. Throughout the course development, the Golf Club directors ensured preservation of the majestic pine and maple trees which provide sanctuary to some of the 140 species of birds that are found throughout The Briars properties.
There's a well stocked Pro Shop and a resident teaching pro. The pro offers a variety of lessons and skill improvement drills.
The award from Canada's Golf Course Ranking Magazine places us among Canada's finest golf resorts. Spring/Summer edition, 1999
