About This Property

Chimney Hill Farm Estate and Ol' Barn Inn Bed and Breakfast is located on a country road nestled in the wooded hillside above the charming historic riverside towns of Lambertville, NJ and New Hope, Pennsylvania. This gorgeous fieldstone Country Inn Bed and Breakfast was built in 1820, and the Inn is surrounded by eight acres of beautiful fields and landscaped grounds. The original two-story farmhouse was expanded in 1927. The grounds occupy the site very near to where George Washington surveyed the Delaware during the bitter winter of 1776.

The expansion was done to create a summer retreat for international attorney, Edgar Hunt. Hiring Margaret Spencer, one of MIT's first female architecture graduates, to design an addition featuring two stone wings, the inn's distinct elegance sets it apart. With numerous gables and fireplaces the verandahs overlook rolling hills and formal gardens.

The house is accented with hand-stenciled trim, raised paneling and wide-plank floors. There are plenty of nooks and crannies throughout the home that reflect architectural elements from the 19th century.

The Stone Room at Chimney Hill is a favorite place to snuggle and sip a glass of sherry. Perfectly situated to take in the full rays of the setting sun, the room is blanketed in its radiant light.

An elegant living room offers a comfortable setting for reading and conversation. Rich colored fabrics and oriental rugs, wide-plank wood floors, and a fireplace and baby grand piano compliment intimate seating areas.
