Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenburg Old Nova Scotia fishing towns are located along the south shore, where the rocks of Nova Scotia meet the Atlantic Ocean, and fishers put to sea from tiny harbours, as they have done for centuries.

| Annapolis Valley, Wolfville, Evangeline Trail From the seaport of Yarmouth, the tides of Fundy rise until they reach a high of 54 feet at the headwaters of the Bay of Fundy's Minas Basin. The Annapolis Valley parallels the Fundy coast, passing through some of North America's earliest European history and the delightful villages and orchards that make up this area. It's a journey that will take you past fortresses, farms and fishing villages, a journey rich in culture, diversity, charm and natural beauty.
From the Yarmouth Ferry Terminal, take Highway 101 East to Exit #11 for Wolfville. Take a side trip, if you have time, to Annapolis Royal to visit Fort Anne and the Annopolis Royal Historic Gardens (Additional 2-3 hours). For an alternate scenic route of the Valley, take the "old road" (Highway #1 East), from Annapolis Royal to Wolfville. The town of Wolfville is a convenient base from which to explore this region.
