"The Inn is known for both its cocktails and its cuisine. Featuring a typically country fare, the food is fresh, abundant and predominantly New England." ~ Living and Dining Magazine
We have been famous since 1776 for our food. Our fare is typically country. Everything is genuine and fresh, most of which is delivered daily from the sea. We have no pretenses; we call fish fish, and beef beef. No tenderizers, no chemicals, just the real thing. Irrespective of our New England chauvinism, however, we recognize and complement California wines with those of France, Germany and Italy; domestic beers and ales with the finest draft of England and Holland; and Tampa cigars with those of the Canary Islands and Jamaica.
So as to never disappoint you, we are open every day of the year (with the exception of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) for luncheon and dinner and a famous Hunt Breakfast on Sundays. We recommend reservations for all meals.
Breakfast A complimentary continental breakfast is served daily to our house guests in the Library from 7:00 to 10:00 am. After breakfast, feel free to stroll about the town and take in its beauty, history and charm.
Luncheon A complete luncheon menu features fresh seafood, salads, our own famous 1776® brand sausages, club lunches and sandwiches. Prices are reasonable and the service is excellent. The dining rooms open at 11:45 and close promptly at 3:00. We serve the world's best beers on draft and California wines by the glass and, although the Griswold Inn once operated as a first-class temperance hotel, we serve never-to-be-forgotten cocktails!
Dinner Dinner at the Inn is an extraordinary experience. Where else can one be served fine foods surrounded by one of America's most celebrated Marine Art Collections? Enjoy our cocktails and choose from our comprehensive selection of American and European wines, including our own label, served by intelligent and courteous servers. Dinners begin daily at 5:30 pm (4:30 pm on Sundays ) and end at 9:00 pm. (10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays). Choose from one of several dining rooms to personalize your dining experience.
Dress is according to personal taste: boating attire, casual to dressy attire are equally suitable for dinner. A fireplace can be found in each of the dining rooms..
After your meal, we would suggest retiring to the Tap Room for entertainment and a cocktail, whether you are a guest of the inn or returning back home or to your boat.
