Relax on one of our Verandas, enjoy your favorite book nestled by the fireplace, a game of chess in the Library, catch the newspaper in the Music Room, or peruse periodicals in the double foyers. Our Dining Room offers special treats to tempt the most discriminating tastebuds.

The carved musical instruments on the fireplace mantle indicate this room's original use. The coved ceiling and intricate wood detailing are accentuated by the curved & bowed windows, beveled plate glass windows and built-in window bench. Guests love this space!

The Library was designed originally as a 'Turkish Corner', a loose interpretation of what 19th Century Far East Oriental architecture would look like. Steamship travel was prohibitively expensive, thus they created these visions of current day equivalents of the 'study'.

The Formal Parlor is a great setting for conversation and socializing. The Statuary Alcove is most unique as are many antiques original to the house in the 1890's.

The Dining Room is distinguished by a 12' floor-to-ceiling mantle highlighted by a carved fruit basket. This is but a preview of the other interesting items in the room. All the public spaces in Shellmont are original colors, but this one is extra special. We'll show you after your arrival!
