Fresh... unique... delicious! The Bayfield peninsula is known for its numerous farms and orchards. Each year the Rittenhouse kitchen is blessed with locally harvested selections such as fiddlehead ferns, crisp watercress, hard-to-find morel mushrooms, and the peninsula's finest fresh fruits and berries.

Begin With Breakfast
Breakfast at the Old Rittenhouse Inn is served daily from 7:00 to 10:00 (high season) and 7:30 to 9:30 AM (off season). After joining us for dinner the evening before, some house guests prefer a lighter meal in the morning. With this in mind, we’ve always offered two breakfast options:

Each room includes continental breakfast: coffee or tea, juices, fresh seasonal fruit, and fresh baked muffins and scones with homemade Rittenhouse Jams & Jellies.

Full breakfast includes all of the above, plus a selection of delicious entrées and side dishes. Houseguests may enjoy full breakfast for $8.50. The public is welcome by reservation for $11.50.

Choose from entrées such as wild rice pancakes, Belgian waffles topped with fresh fruit, or creative egg scrambles with Lake Superior white fish, wild leeks and Wisconsin cheddar cheese. Round out your hearty breakfast with a serving of herbed potatoes, apple-cured bacon or spicy lamb chorizo sausage.

Lunch Is Served
The Rittenhouse lunch menu features a selection of soups and salads, appetizers, tasty entrée's, and our renowned desserts, available a la carte.

If you plan to be in town for the day, stop in and enjoy the great food, hospitality and atmosphere of the inn. Come taste what everyone's talking about!

Elegant Gourmet Dining
Dinner at the Old Rittenhouse Inn is romantic, elegant and festive. The five-course meal begins with a selection of soups and seasonal salads, followed by a tart sorbet.

Entrées change regularly, but might include a tender fillet mignon stuffed with oysters, seared breast of duckling with wild chokecherry glaze, or roast loin of pork with apple cider marmalade glaze. Lake Superior provides fresh fish daily.

Peruse our broad wine list for the perfect accompaniment to your selections. Savor each bite as you dine by candlelight, but make sure to save room for dessert.
