The Old Rittenhouse Inn offers an atmosphere of elegance and comfort. The Inn is comprised of two Victorian homes, a guest house, and a private cottage. Each is located within a few blocks of historic downtown Bayfield, Wisconsin and Lake Superior. Guest rooms are comfortably furnished and decorated with beautiful antiques.  Room rates vary according to room amenities which include views of Lake Superior and Madeline Island, working wood burning fireplaces, luxury whirlpools and private baths. A complimentary continental breakfast for two each morning is included with each night of your stay. For the hungrier appetite we serve a Full Breakfast Menu including daily specials, available to houseguests for a reduced rate. All but one of our guestrooms have working wood-burning fireplaces. Many of our Standard Guestroom and Suite amenities include double, queen and king size beds, sleeper sofas, fireplaces and lake views, all with private baths. Luxury Whirlpool Rooms feature relaxing two-person tubs and fireplaces. The Champagne Suite boasts over 700 square feet of luxurious comfort with a two-sided wood fireplace, whirlpool and spectacular view of Lake Superior! Room XI is another spacious guest favorite, with window seats overlooking Lake Superior, king-size bed, and massive crystal chandelier. Our two-story private cottage, the Fountain Cottage, is located one-half block uphill from the Inn (across a tree-filled ravine) and includes a wet-bar, fireplace, king-size bed, whirlpool and bath. The ultimate in privacy!
