Local Attraction

Our rooms will enchant you, our breakfasts will delight you, and we promise your stay will be a memorable one.

Situated on three acres of lawn, gardens and meadowlands. A ten minute drive to the 27,000 acre Cape Cod National Seashore. Within walking distance of Cape Cod bayside beaches. A two minute bike ride to the Cape Cod Rail Trail--a 30 mile bike path. Just minutes from the village of Orleans, MA. The Whalewalk is located in the town of Eastham on what is known as the "OUTER CAPE."

This area is the quieter, unhurried part of Cape Cod. Eastham is the heart of the Cape Cod National Seashore - a 40 mile stretch of national park beaches on the Atlantic Ocean where you can swim in the surf, walk the beaches and truly feel that only your footprints are in the sand.

A 10 minute walk from the Inn is one of the most beautiful bayside beaches on the Cape. At low tide you can walk out on the "flats" and wonder if you walked far enough would you be able to reach the mainland.

Low Tide exposes a variety of sealife.

Behind the Inn is the Cape Cod Rail Trail which is a 30 mile bike path which runs from Dennis to Wellfleet. The trail was once an old railroad bed and traverses through beautiful marshes, fresh water kettle ponds and small village hamlets where you can stop and enjoy the unspoiled environment of outer Cape Cod.

We are fortunate to be only 5 minutes from the village of Orleans where there are wonderful shops, galleries, restaurants and theatre. And, 15 minutes away is Wellfleet, the home of the famous and most delicious oysters ever. They also boast of some beautiful galleries and have a tour map to show you the way.

A 40 minute car ride away is the very tip of Cape Cod and the town of Provincetown where guests can enjoy some of the best whale watching the world has to offer, discover the dunes at Race Point and dine in some of the best restaurants around.

Our location is central to the beautiful old Cape Cod towns along the north shore and Route 6A, designated one of the 10 most scenic highways in America. A short car ride along Pleasant Bay takes you to the elbow of the cape and the town of Chatham, perhaps one of the loveliest towns around.

If you want to visit Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, the Whalewalk is 30 minutes from Hyannis where guests can catch a ferry and explore these 2 very distinct islands. Or, you can choose to drive to Woods Hole, where the ferry ride is a short 40 minutes to the Vineyard.
