Attractions:

  • Linden Vineyard: Situated at the top of the Blue Ridge Mountains, near the Skyline Drive, the vineyard was started by the Law family in 1985. They built an underground winery in 1987. Tours in March through December, Wednesday through Sunday and Holiday Mondays, 11:00 to 5:00PM. January and February, weekends only. Route 340 South to 66 East (Front Royal), 66 East to Linden exit. One mile east on 55 and right on 638 for 2 miles to winery.
  • Piedmont Vineyard: Virginia's first commercial vinifera vineyard, began in 1973. The dairy barn was turned into the winery in 1976. Tours daily 10:00 to 5:00, closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. 340 North to Route 50, Route 50 East to 626, right on 626 for 3 miles to winery.
  • Oasis Vineyard: Facing the Blue Ridge Mountains, today the vineyard offers the public five white wines, two reds,a blush/rose, and a French-style Champagne. Tours daily 10:00 to 4:00, closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. 340 North to 50 East, 50 East to 17 South to 66 East. 66 East to Marshall exit, proceed on Route 647 for 4 miles, turn right on 635 and go 10 miles. Winery is on left
  • Naked Mountain Vineyard: A stunning setting on a slope of the Blue Ridge, classic European grape varieties including Chardonnay, Reisling and Sauvignon Blanc. A rustic tasting room with 22 foot cathedral ceilings. Tours January and February and Holidays - 11:00 to 5:00. March through December, Wednesday through Sunday and Holidays - 11:00 through 5:00. Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. 340 South to 66 East to Markham exit. Take exit, 1.5 miles on Route 688. Winery is on the right.

  • Antique Shopping: Middleburg, Millwood, and Winchester Virginia are perfect for strolling and antiquing, just minutes away
  • Horseback Riding: Enjoy beautiful vistas and experienced guides just minutes from the inn. Our guests say this is better than the west.
  • Hiking: Sky Meadows State Park, and the Shenandoah National Park great hiking, a fabulous walk at the beautifulVirginia State Arboretum
  • Biking: We have 52 bike maps from 7 miles to 50. Enjoy river scenes and backroads less traveled.
  • Golf: Virginia National, Shenandoah Golf Course, Rock Harbor, just a few of the award winning golf courses just minutes away. Bring the clubs, open to the public.
  • Canoeing/Kayaking: Canoe and Kayak the Shenandoah River, White Water at Harpers Ferry, rafting tubing, refreshing on the summer's day
  • Tennis: Several outdoor area courts, open to the public and lit until 10:00 pm.
  • Swimming: Lazy days by the pool at the Villa, open to all inn guests
