"The charm of the Seward Inn is its intimate but comfortable state." New York Times
The William Seward Inn is located in the heart of Chautauqua County, NY, minutes from CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION. This finely restored 1837 country inn is a destination for many travelers seeking tranquility and relaxation.
This full service inn is lovingly decorated with classic fabrics, vivid hues and period furnishings. Contemporary comfort is combined with 19th century style and elegance. Along with an outstanding dining experience, guests have an opportunity to indulge themselves totally in an environment of sybaritic pleasures and quiet delights. The body rests, the spirit renews and relationships flourish.
During the past year, we have been most fortunate to enjoy some significant publicity, which brought many new guests to the Inn and clearly raised our profile both locally and beyond. The Inn was included in Doris Larson's book, GETAWAYS FROM CLEVELAND, now in its second printing. In addition, the Inn was featured as a romantic getaway in the February, 2002 issue of OHIO MAGAZINE.
In the past, the Inn was featured or reviewed in the Buffalo News, The Erie Times, Lake Erie Magazine and Northern Ohio Live, often with photographs which beautifully reflected the Inn's décor and cuisine. Lake Erie Magazine called the Inn "...a must on the dining agenda of those who possess discriminating taste." Our entrees were described as "...prepared magnificently and artistically presented."
We expect the summer will be a bounteous season with the lush beauty of Chautauqua at its most fulsome. The recreational activities of the area and the cultural and educational offerings of the internationally known Chautauqua Institution make this a magical time for guests. Our website is here to inform and assist you with planning your stay with us. We hope to make every moment you spend with us both pleasurable and memorable.
