Attractions:
- Dresden, Ohio: Home of the Longaberger Basket company, Dresden offers tours of the factory, gift shops and restaurants. You can even make an appointment to weave your own basket!
- The Kokosing Gap Trail: This is a 14 mile long paved rails-to-trails path from Danville to Mount Vernon. Perfect for walking, cycling or rollerblading.
- The Wilds: 14 square miles of reclaimed surface mining land has been turned into an open range conservation area for endangered African, Asian and North American wildlife. Open May to Oct.
- Roscoe Village: This was an important canal port on the Ohio & Erie Canal through the 1800's. Now it is a restored village with a museum, living history buildings, shops, restaurants and festivals
- Amish Area: North America's largest Amish Community. The list of things to see and do is endless-tours & visits to an Amish farm, quilt shops, cheese factories, bulk food stores, farmer's mart
- Velvet Ice Cream: The Olde Mill in Utica is home to Ohio’s own Velvet Ice cream. Visit the ice-cream museum, tour the factory, and enjoy a sweet treat from the soda parlor.
- Mohican State Park: approximately a 20 minute drive from the inn.

- Health Spa / Massage: Make an appointment for a soothing, relaxing massage in the comfort of your room.
- Biking: The inn is on a designated scenic cycle route. If you prefer the safety of a trail, we are less than 10 minutes from the 14 mile paved Kokosing Gap Trail.
- Fishing: The nearby Kokosing River is one of the Midwest's finest small-mouth bass fishing rivers. It can be accessed within a mile of the inn.
- Hiking: We are a short drive to either the 14 mile rails-to-trails Kokosing Gap Trail, the 4 1/2 mile Mohican Valley Trail, or Mohican State park for more rugged hiking.
- Nature Preserves / Trails
- Golf: The finest course nearby is at Apple Valley, an 18 hole course rated par 71 over 6594 yards. There are 6 other courses within 30 miles.
- Antique Shopping: 20 minutes from the inn, downtown Mount Vernon has several antique malls and stores. Other antique malls are in Millersburg and Berlin as well as individual stores scattered throughout the area.
- Lake / River / Ocean: Apple Valley lake is 10 minutes from the inn, with boating, fishing and swimming. The Kokosing River is within walking distance, and the Mohican and Walhonding Rivers are 5 miles from the inn.
- Ski Area: Clear Fork and Snow Trails Mansfield are approximately 45 minutes from the Inn.
- Canoeing/Kayaking: Kokosing Camp and Canoe offers canoe rentals on the Kokosing River, recently given State Scenic River status by the governor. Trips from 1 hour to all day are available.
- Sight-seeing: The best way to learn about the Amish area and way of life is to take a guided tour. We can recommend half or full day tours, and even arrange for your meal in an Amish home.
