About the Inn
The Inn at Thorn Hill is one of the most outstanding - and most romantic - historic country inns in the eastern United States. The perfect choice of that long-deserved vacation, romantic getaway or honeymoon, it has been featured many times in publications including Yankee Magazine, Country Inns, Country Accents and television's Romantic Escapes
One never wants for activities; the charming village of Jackson and the White Mountains offer many diversions throughout the year including swimming, golf, hiking and quality attractions in spring, summer and fall. In winter; tobogganing, outdoor hot tub and cross country skiing are at our door. Downhill skiing, sleigh rides and ice skating are nearby.
Relax in the wicker furniture on the spacious wrap-around porch viewing Mt. Washington, or in the fireplaced common rooms. The newly enlarged lounge serves a more casual menu and the fine dining in the main dining room is elegant, with expertly prepared food and attentive service. On a monthly basis, the inn hosts our well known Wine Dinners - multi course gourmet meals complemented by carefully selected wines. Accommodations include 25 uniquely decorated guest rooms: the Main Inn, all with gas fireplace, jacuzzi, and tv/dvd; the Carriage House, with a main common room and well appointed guest rooms -all slated for luxury renovations in 2009, and the Cottages, each with their own fireplace and jacuzzi, where guests rest comfortably in the mountain quiet. Our rates make staying with us especially affordable - so why not extend your stay?
"A well researched trip through the Internet helped us in the selection of this destination. Of all the B&Bs weve stayed in during our trek through New England, the Inn at Thorn Hill was the most exquisite and hospitable The dinner was marvelous" — Palm Beach, FL
The Inn at Thorn Hill has a remarkable location. You arrive after driving through the picture postcard perfect covered bridge, and ascend a slight hill to the inn.
You can easily walk from the inn to the shops and art galleries in Jackson Village - or simply stroll the 1 1/4 mile loop that circuits the quaint mountain town. Other highlights of the village include an 18-hole golf course, Jackson Falls (a favorite spot for picnics or a cooling dip on a hot summer day), the river walk along the Wildcat River, the Jackson Community Church (perfect for weddings), the Stanford White designed town library just over the stone bridge which spans the Wildcat River below Jackson Fall and the 780,000 acre White Mountain National Forest which provides endless opportunities for recreation.
